Wicked, Wicked on TCM this Friday!!

The astounding innovation of “duo-vision” changed movies fornever, and now you can see why. If anyone wants to cut me a copy of this, please do. I’m sure I’ll review it and, for what it’s worth, I’ll tip my hat to you in the article.

It plays at 2:00 am (EST) on Friday night/Saturday morning, followed by Hitchcock’s *cough* somewhat better Frenzy.

Hey, don’t undersell it, it’s not just any old “duo-vision” it’s ANAMORPHIC Duo-vision.

  • Roger H.

It is in the TIVO queue. Let me know if no one else steps forward to send you a copy.

I still have your (the library’s) address.

Good to have you back on line.

  • Thanks, Roger! I know I said I wouldn’t keep bothering people for copies, but man, I’ve had that *awesome* theme song in my head for months now:

    “Wicked, wicked,
    That’s the ticket,
    You make me just
    feel so wicked…”

Man, they *really* pulled out all the stops for those lyrics. And Tiffany Bolling’s performance of the song is just as good!

I’ve tried several times to post comments, yet they never seem to get posted. Why is that?

  • sandra

    Well, finally!

  • Sandra — Hmm. I know that sometimes you have to refresh before you see a message you’ve just posted…at least it works that way for me. This note seems to have posted OK.

I can run a VHS copy from my DVR cable box. Hopefully someone (Roger??) can do a DVD instead. Anyway I’ll act as failsafe backup in lieu of other options *g*

Crikey — rmember when the film came out and the bad reviews, but finally got to see it on UK tv about 25 years ago. Yep, still remember the theme song, “Wicked, wicked, that’s the ticket” and Scott “By the book” Brady’s performance, and remember really liking the scene where the overaged eccentric dancer tells a glorified version of her life story on one screen while the real story unfolds on the other. Good stuff.

That’s funny, I’ve had the awesome theme from “The Green Slime” stuck in my head for weeks. “Green Sliiiiime!”

  • Roger H.

Sardu, wow, Ken has so many besides Jabootu looking over him (^_^)

I have a DVD recorder connect to the DVR and do dubs all the time. I also can transfer from Tivo via Toast onto my Mac. As the cave men in Battle Field Earth say “piece of cake.”

    Thanks for backing me up.

Okay, I watched Wicked, Wicked last night, figuring I might never have another chance to see it. The ‘DuoVision” works occasionally, but is mostly just annoying, and gets in the way of a neat little B-movie. They never did explain who the old lady playing the organ was. On the plus side, for once an Informed Attribute wasn’t all that far off the mark: Tiffany Bolling had a decent singing voice. All together now, “Wicked wicked, that’s the ticket…”
