Monster of the Day #1999

Sleepy Hollow was Burton’s In the Mouth of Madness, the last film by a director who was my favorite for a stretch of time that I really fell in love with. If nothing else, that magnificent cameo by Christopher Lee reminded other filmmakers that he was still alive and got him a run of high-profile work over the last decade of his life.

Hehe, kinda wish now you’d used this one after a week of two-headed monsters…

It’s the Law of Conservation of Cinematic Heads.

I was actually born in Sleepy Hollow. The name was changed to North Tarrytown (which was the name when I was born) when the area was incorporated in the late-19th century but was changed back to Sleepy Hollow in the 90s.

Yeesh, why would they change the name from Sleepy Hollow? You think they’d be proud of being mentioned in one of the greatest ghost stories of all time.

Plus, North Tarrytown? Wow, that’s exciting.
