Monster of the Day #1977

Last Winterbeast monster (finally), again as with Equinox, most of the monsters were stop-animated, but this one was a guy in an outfit. I bought the disc, and I don’t think it will make the main line-up, but I might play it on T-Fest weekend in September–holy moly, that’s next month–on the off-hours.

    I finally watched this last night (it’s on YouTube). The stop-motion critters are pretty cool, the rest of the movie is a slog. You’d probably be better off watching one of the YouTube collections where they ripped out the stop motion stuff instead of watching the whole film.
    Maybe not the worst ‘Jaw’ rip-off I’ve seen but one of the cheapest. Though I did like how it turned out Sheldon wasn’t merely blocking the rangers from shutting down the mountain for the fall festival to being fully working with the Winterbeast. Which was a neat turn on the ‘Jaws’ fomula. When he puts on the clown mask and starts dancing I thought was the most horrible part of the movie…

    B-Movie TV is replaying this. Since I’m likely to see it next month, I’m basically just screwing around online, and then looking up whenever a monster appears. Probably the best way to watch it. Until that one guy goes nuts, anyway.
