Monster of the Day #1708

Breaking theme and of course he’s been featured before. Who cares? If all goes well my sister and young niece will join me today at the gorgeous ’20s movie palace the Pickwick to enjoy the adventures of the 8th Wonder of the World with 500 plus other enrapt fans. Wheeeee!

I hope she enjoys it. My niece, when I lent her and my brother the original King Kong on DVD, thought it was funny. Glad she enjoyed it, of course, but funny hurts just a little bit.

Still, seeing it in a theater? That, my friend, is awesome! Enjoy!

Doubt anyone will object to using the King for a second time…

    Enjoy the movie!!!

And ‘HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!!!!!”

I too hope she enjoys it. It was was made at least 30 years before most of us were born and we all here love it, why not many in the next generation?

  • The Rev.

I’m now less jealous of you for this than I was in January, as it turns out my local Alamo Drafthouse is playing this in a little over a week and I snapped up tickets as soon as it appeared on the calendar. I got to see Creature from the Black Lagoon a few months back there as well, in glorious 3-D which I hadn’t seen it in since the very first time as a wee Rev., and am just as hyped for this one.

I swear that place is trying to bankrupt me…

Oh gee, ‘CFtBL’ in 3D is one I’d be happy to pay to see on the big screen!

  • Sounds like money well spent to me…

  • How wonderful. I am totally jealous! Enjoy the family time!

Got to do that in high school in the late 70s. Local theater showed “creature” and “It Came from Outer Space” in 3D. Also got to see “How the West was Won” in full Cinerama in same theater.

    ‘Stupid bird thing. Kong SMASH!”

It must have been great to see the King on the silver screen. I hope your sister and niece enjoyed it!
