Monster of the Day #1705

Hello, everyone! All is well with me, hopefully I can get back into the rhythm. It’s been busy, with doctors’ appointments and car stuff and even seeing movies. (I saw Black Panther last week–very nice–King Kong vs Godzilla and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man on Saturday, and on this Thursday will get to introduce my young niece to the original King Kong at the gorgeous Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, IL.)

I’m on a course of steroids right now and they have definitely helped the legs a lot. I’d say I’m at 70% which is a vast improvement. We’ll have to see what the permanent treatment is, but right now it’s pretty good.

I hope all is well with you guys. Hopefully we’ll be releasing dates for this spring’s T-Fest pretty soon.

Gee Ken, if you hadn’t kicked so many asses for over-due books you wouldn’t have injured yourself!

All joking aside it’s good to have you back. I think I can speak for all of us that we were worried about you. You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers for the last couple of weeks.

Wow, getting to see the ‘real’ King Kong in the theater sounds awesome!!!

  • Ericb

Glad to see that you’re doing ok. Too bad, though, that you probably won’t be getting into the Librarian Hall of Fame. I hear that they’re pretty strict when it comes to PEDs.

  • KeithB

You can get two monsters out of the new “Wrinkle in Time”. The red-eyed man and IT. Though I really wish they would have gone with the disembodied brain rather than the overdone Cleopatra from the Addam’s Family look.

  • Wow, I think you just convinced me in that last sentence not to bother with that one in the theater. Although I was already pretty convinced by the big budget OTT CGI in the trailer, for what is essentially a SF story with a fairly domestic setting, even when world-hopping.

  • Gamera977

I was wondering about it, word on the internet hasn’t been good. I thought the last movie adaption was disappointing.

  • Mr. Rational

Ken, a sincere recommendation: if you get the chance to see another movie in theaters, see Annihilation. The trailer is terrible, but I went to see the movie last night anyway. It’s slow, and tense, and beautiful, and deeply upsetting, and great.

  • Mr. Rational

He could have gotten Aunt Beast, too…if Aunt Beast had made the fricking movie…

  • bgbear_rnh

    Welcome back !

  • Gamera977

And I have no friggin’ clue what movie that’s from!

  • Rock Baker

God bless and welcome back, Ken!

  • Dorothy P Cobb

I agree. Annihilation is mind-blowing. Also glad you’re feeling better, Ken!

  • I’d say welcome back, too, but I’m afraid I’d get the Welcome Back, Carter theme song stuck in my head again and I just… got…it out…

    Oh hell.

  • Eric Hinkle

Pretty sure that’s The Jackal from the needlessly gory remake of 13 Ghosts.

    And welcome back, Mr. Begg!

  • bgbear_rnh

ooh ooh ooh ooh Mr. Waters

  • Marsden

Is that from the new reality show, Zombie Dentist?

Great to see you back, Ken.
