An odd little poster for an odd little film. A rip-off of a Frazatta poster? Surely the prostrate native guy in the foreground was a woman in Frazatta’s version.

That Stamp’s ‘character’ is in a hood for 90% of his scenes, meaning the actual name actor probably only had to be on set one day, if that, is shameless and thus highly delightful.

    I was reading about some fantasy artist who did book covers (don’t remember his name) who commented that a bare bottom would make any fantasy novel sell better. Bizarrely he claimed it didn’t matter if it were a male or female tush.

    It wasn’t until I saw the director’s name that I finally figured out that this was MYSTERY ON MONSTER ISLAND. That could’ve been so much better. The ending is also a bit silly, even for a kiddie matinee monster movie from Spain.

    Looks like this is rapidly turning into “Peter Cushing trapped on monster island” week. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. :)

    Based on the current trend, I’d half-expect tomorrow’s MOTD to be Shock Waves… except I’m pretty sure Ken’s already covered that flick.
