I’m a dope.

I know, not exactly the shock statement of the decade. However, now that I see faces, the art is obviously Neal Adams, not Bernie Wrightson.

I like the amount of detail here, suggesting a carefully arranged ritual.

The mystery is what happened to the question mark.

Why do they only designate the month and never the year? Yeah, I know, they probably never imagined that anyone would care about these books after a year had passed but as someone who knows very little about comics history I find this very frustrating.

It’s amazing just how fine a cover that is for what’s basically a grade-C DC horror comic. Though I loved them all the same. Funny how when I look back I realize that as a kid I rarely bought superhero titles. From DC I got the horror and war titles — WEIRD WAR TALES was far and away my favorite. And from Marvel, it was all monsters and Conan the Barbarian.
