Monster of the Day #1563

OK, same basic plot as yesterday’s film. Indeed, the producer really liked this plot and used it several other times as well. Not as much as Herman Cohen’s go-to “Teen (or chimp) is turned into a monster by the authority figure meant to help him” trope, but plenty of times nonetheless.

The advantage of this one is that one of the titular Wrestling Woman is played by the beauteous Lorena Velazquez, recently seen as a MotD herself as a sexy vampire.

  • “RAH! I’m the mighty Kong!”

    “No you’re not, Chim Chim.”

    “…Well, I met him once, so…”

“Just stop before you embarrass yourself any further.”

    “Okay, okay.”

“Now go fetch me a woman. Preferable a luchadora in a skin tight red leather outfit. For scientific reasons. Of course.”

“Ah, man, all the other medicinally enhanced primates go out and fetch women for their mad scientist owners/creators/pimps. Can’t I do something different?”

    “Such as?”

“I wanna fight Kraa the Sea Monster!”

“Sure you do. We all do. Maybe some day.”

    “It’s always someday.”

“Now, now. No more pouting. Get going. Oh, and if you see the Aztec Mummy, give him a wedgie for me.”

“Gee whiz, I never get to do anything interesting.”

The mad scientist is a wrestler too? They lead such rich lives!

I don’t speak Spanish and am trying to translate this:

‘The Mexican Wrestlers vs. Doctor Assassin???’

‘The Mexican Wrestlers vs. The Murdering Doctor???’

  • According to Google Translate, the title is: The Fighters vs. the Medical Doctor. Sort of suggests a flick that’ll sterilize you with fear, doesn’t it? I suppose it’s actually a legal thriller. One with a big monkey in it.

  • Gamera977

Hmmm, that’s interesting. When I enter Asesino it comes up with a translation of Assassin, Murderer, or Killer. And Doctor for Medico.

  • It did for me this time, too. Dunno. I blame Google. Couldn’t possibly be me screwing… wait, it’s past noon for me, I’m due. I must have botched something up. Too bad. Ruins a decent little comment.

Hummm…who has the hairier arm pits…the ape, or the wrestlers? Hummm…

In Mexican luchador movies, everyone is a wrestler. Like how in chop sockey films, everyone knows kung fu.
