Monster of the Day #928

If this guy looks a bit familiar, it’s because it’s our old friend Repticilicus. Charlton printed a few issues of an official Reptilicus comic (and also a Konga comic), then lost the rights and simply renamed the monster. The series only ran another six issues, though.

“The Terrible?” That’s not the half of it.

IIRC Reptilicus could spit acid, his mouth is more or less free. Maybe runs out of ammo if they don’t fed him enough Danish?

So if these monsters aren’t attacking our own people and friendly/neutral countries they’re getting captured by the Soviets? Sheesh… these Pentagon bio-weapons are way more trouble than they’re worth.

BTW: That North Korean documentary; “The Day We Captured Gamera” is all bloody filthy lies….

So, GIs fighting to free a kaiju from the Reds? That’s an original plot.

  • Ericb

They’ve even dyed him red. The fiends!

Maybe they want to train him to fight Rocky.

I feel sorry for the paratroopers if the Reds have also captured the Giant Claw.

  • Assuming we’re heading in the direction of comics based on monsters you’d never think would have comics based on, I look forward to Gorgo.

Considering AIP was supposedly ashamed of REPTILICUS, they sure went out of their way to license and promote him. I think they were just talking to cover themselves with adults, knowing they had a sure-fire hit with the kiddies.

So, if a Kaiju eats the other guys, it’s okay…even though the wee beastie will eat your guys when he gets a chance. yeah smart…
Like a landmine, Kaiju have no loyalty.
