Looks like these guys should have teamed up with the Sea Devils. Although a giant octopus on a leash is better than the dolphins. I like the crazy diving suits, however.

Giants were always grabbing the Seaview’s sporty fins and rocking the ship around. Yet they never installed seatbelts in the chairs. Dummies.

    The jet stream from the Seaview’s engines are like a jacuzzi.

    3: Ducted jet propulsion is the IN thing for underwater cruisin’.

    The red diving suit reminds me of something from the Major Matt Mason toy line, something akin to a pressure suit with a built-in laboratory (the original line of Mason toys were based on actual devices we were expected to use on other worlds back when we though space exploration would be an on-going experiment. Later runs in the series eventually embraced science fiction as opposed to science fact, and brought in space monsters and the like).

    As to the painting itself, that’s just beautiful!

    I never had a Maj Mason but, at some point got the Martian and played with him for years and made him spaceships and such. Never knew what happened to him, same old story, off to college, moms, etc.

    I loved Major Matt Mason and his alien friends. I had them all. My favorite was Colossus Rex, The Man From Jupiter. For some reason he was impossible to find and I must have dragged my mom to every toy store in the lower Hudson Valley before I was able to get my hands on him.

    Actually, the guy from Jupiter was Callisto–“his transparent skull reveals the workings of his alien brain!” Colossus was from Mars, I think.
