Monster of the Day #905

I was going to (shock) stick with octopus comics, but man, then I looked at Sea Devils covers, and nearly every one has a cool monster on it. I say this all the time, but I could easily do a full month of Sea Devils covers. Turns out the one from yesterday was issue #1, so I’ll just move on from there.

The early covers by Russ Heath are the best, after that they can get a little cartoony. Look at that art, that’s just gorgeous.

    The exhausted air from their tanks should pop that cork pretty easily. I am not sure they could escape but, it would annoy the giant.

    Masterful layout on this cover.

    Looks like their captor has six fingers, but only on one hand!

    Heh? I go five by five, going by fingernails.

    There’s the tip of an extra finger behind his first finger, and it’s in the wrong position to be his thumb. Given the skilled depiction of everything else here, that seems an odd mistake.
