Don't take it seriously, and it's cool.
Am I correct in thinking the cast knew what they were in, and decided to just roll with it?

They play their parts straight. Most of them work with Josh on the stage, I think. If they didn't play it straight, the film would lose it's grounding. Like how those Naked Gun movies are played like actual real action-based dramas.

Looks like it could be a fun film. I like Sci-Fi and this film lookslike it could be a lot of fun.
