Since you can't post links in the blog comments I thought I'd post this here. This is an article on the cult that inspired the TV Movie The Mysterious Two that Rock reviewed recently. This cult eventually evolved into the Heaven's Gate cult which had a mass suicide in 1997 which gives the film and extra creepy edge.

Thanks Eric, interesting stuff there. I'd heard some about it when the mass suicide happened but never looked more into it. Reminds me a little of the whole Shaver Mystery/Hoax from the '30s (though no one was killed that was involved with it).
