OH HELL YEAH!!

Oddly enough, DRAGON magazine once had a cover painting of a view from an F-14 cockpit as it drew a bead on a dragon.

This is what bothered me about "Reign Of Fire", I understand that the military would not be prepared for a dragon attack and it took them by surprise; but the dragons would not be attacking the gun-wielders all at once (How would they even KNOW about them, much less WHERE they all were). After a couple of hours, anyone with a fighter plane or skeetgun would counter-attack.

REIGN OF FIRE.
Yeah, I can see the dragons using their speed and suprise to get ahead, but bullet proof? To what extent, and how can they fly with all those tears they have in the wing surface?
BTW, it was an F-16, based on the outline of the fighter on the display screen for 'weapons available.'The guy had two kills stenciled on the cockpit class, too.

What was that SF Channel original movie? There was one where the Pentagon created a dragon as a bio-weapon (oh, brother) that ended with the heroes blowing up the lab and escaping in a helicopter. And yes the dragon comes after the chopper and a F-16 shows up - that apparently has no cannon and can't get a lock on the dragon with a missile. So Dean Cain shoots a flare gun into the dragon's mouth so a heat-seeking missile will lock on. This despite the dragon breathing fire all over the place for five minutes or more...

yes! I remember that thing.
Would not the heat generated by a mass that big, just to keep it's self in the air, let alone chase a chopper generate a heat signature the AIM-9L could lock on, even if at close range?
And don't ask me about the AMMRAMs...that big thing has to have at least SOME radar cross section...Argh!
And why don't the F-16s have loaded 20mm if they have live missiles?
See! We think too much!

Lol FP, I was thinking 'huh' when they never mention the F-16's gun or AMMRAM but it's when they got to the DRAGON BREATHING FIRE EVERYWHERE and I need to shoot it with this teeny tiny little flare gun to get a lock with the Sidewinder my mouth dropped open...

I mean gee have the fighter pilot say 'I can't shoot the dragon since it's too close to the chopper and I might hit you guys by mistake' and then have Cain shoot it with the flare to distract it or drive it away so the F-16 can then shoot it. Geeze Loise, I'm not even a screenwriter and just came up with that off the top of my head.

Oh yeah, that's Dragon Fighter. It was pretty bad, but occasionally it had super-stupid stuff like that to liven things up. That ending was pretty funny.

DRAGON FIGHTER...now I can see a fire breathing reptile with a pilot helmet sitting in an F-15. That might be kinda cool, actually...
