NOTICE!! Sadly, no T-Fest this fall…

For a good reason, though. Sandy, our perennial host, will be out of town this fall on a gig in India. So we’ll just have to make next year’s event(s) all the bigger to compensate.

Perhaps we can dedicate a day for everyone to watch 8 b-movies on their own and then report on what they watched.

“Perhaps we can dedicate a day for everyone to watch 8 b-movies on their own and then report on what they watched.”

    I like this plan!

    Good luck in India, Sandy!

  • The Rev.

Well, I’m happy for Sandy, but that’s a goddamn shame. Are you going to be able to return your tickets? I’d offer to host if I didn’t live in an apartment.

  • Ken_Begg

We’ll see. Luckily, these were pretty cheap tickets, and it’s a sunk cost at this point. Not optimal, but if I come down there 20 times, chances were one trip was going to go awry.

I can’t do 8 movies, but can certainly do a few- maybe even get a small crowd together. i’d be happy to report back. Just give me plenty of advance notice.

  • The Rev.

    1. Where are you located?

    2. Ken was coming down to Texas in early November.

  • MrTongoRad

I guess that’s early enough notice for November. I’m in northern NJ, about 10 minutes from NYC. I’m sure I can get some friends to come out from Long Island for a late afternoon/evening type thing. Who knows- maybe my kids will even be into it. This thing is sounding better all the time.

My complication to the above suggestion, because I’m the sort of lady who loves complications. How about a single slate of 8 movies, distributed to the interested parties ahead of time so we can all have copies on hand, pick a set date and time for the flicks in advance and set up a Facebook page (or use the T-Fest one that already exists) to share our random thoughts as we watch in different parts of the country. The biggest issue I see with it is that the slate might be a little more generic than usual due to the need to pick readily available titles. Then again, with the advent of sites like iOffer, readily available covers a lot more ground than it once did.

It’s a chance to get other folks involved too, everyone would be able to have their own movie-watching buddies over to participate. Or invite over folks you never want to see again, that works too.

We’ll call it V-Fest (Virtual, duh).
