Monster of the Day #620

And so ends, sadly, our look at Jack the Giant Killer. What a high note, though! The Sea Dragon is fabulous. So goofy and so cool at the same time.

Someone must have been hitting the bong for this one. It’s like a Mirror Universe Gumby character.

  • That last picture looks like a still from ‘Beanie And Cecil: the Final Conflict’.

  • SteveWD

Wow, I haven’t seen this movie since I was maybe 10. Really need to find it. Wonder if the similarity to this was intentional?

  • SteveWD

Tried to post a still of the snarling Brontosaur from ‘The Lost World’ 1925. Doesn’t look like it worked. You all probably know which one I’m talking about.

  • Gamera977

Goofy maybe but pretty badass too…

I must see this movie now…

  • bgbear_rogerh

Yes, I believe it took place on the Nobikini Atoll.

  • sandra

That thing looks like a snake with tentacles.

  • Ken_Begg

    That’s what *she* said.

Thank you, ladies and germs, I’m here all week.

  • Ericb

    A sextodragon

  • That’s just heart-warming goodness right there!

  • This is the last JACK THE GIANT KILLER post? What about Pendragon’s army of monster henchmen? The Demon of the Wind? The supernatural guards? The possessed princess? For that matter, Pendragon himself, since he turns into the flying “harpy” seen earlier?

  • It was the theatrical preview which called the monster a “harpy” although I think “dragon” might be more fitting…

  • Ken_Begg

Out of pics. I don’t own the DVD, and that’s all I could find on the web.

  • Flangepart

Ken, you are a bad man, making me laugh so hard.
These pics are things of demented beauty.
Skrag and Ericb put it well. Like a 60’s kid show seen through Saki goggles.

  • How large do your pix need to be? I ran across some shots of the possessed princess with a quick image search.

  • Ken_Begg

    They are generally 600px wide.

  • Petoht

That sea serpent looks so happy!
