Monster of the Day #603

Is she wearing Gogos boots?

Basil brings the sexy. (Ingrid might have helped a little.)

  • Flangepart

    Fangs, for the memories…

  • Way sexy.

  • Ericb

    Oh bite me!

    … please?

  • Gamera977

I’ll make an exception for Ms. Pitt, if she wants to sparkle I’m all for it.

Excellent painting, beautiful job of capturing her likeness.

  • THE VAMPIRE LOVERS? There was a movie that was a million times better than it had any right to be! It should have stink up the projector, but it was one of Hammer’s best vampire pix!

  • Gamera977

I assume so. Was this the first lesbian vampress movie?

  • Ken_Begg

Hmm. I don’t know, the roots go back pretty far. Even Dracula’s Daughter had a scene with strong lesbian undertones. But yeah, that might have been the first forthrightly lesbian one.

  • Gamera977

Yeah, I guess it would go back at least to the novel ‘Carmilla’ which I still have yet to read.

  • MrTongoRad

I read it because it came with the Criterion set for Dreyer’s Vampyr. But, yeah, the subtext would seem to go way back to that story.

  • Ericb

I think this scene is from The House that Dripped Blood and Ingrid is bearing her fangs to Jon Pertwee!

  • That’s one I really need to screen again. My memories have it crossed with ASYLUM.

  • the first Art book by Gogos is now available and I immediately bought one. Merry Christmas to me, i guess.

  • Eric Hinkle

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie starring Ingrid Pitt. Truly a lovely woman, but how was she as an actress?
