Monster of the Day #593

“…and from that day forward he was a better man, for he always remembered the holiday was about giving tanks.”

God bless, everyone.

“Just 10 more minutes dear, I’ll get the carving knife and you’d better get the table ready”
    “Mmmmmmm, brains”

    Zombie Thanksgiving

And a happy belated birthday to you.

What goes with brain? White or red wine???

    Happy Thanksgiving guys and gals!

  • Preparing the stuffing was a lot more complicated back then.

    Is that Nancy Reagan ?

  • Ken_Begg

Yes, eventually. I believe she was still Nancy Davis at this point.

  • Interesting choice for the day. Happy Thanksgiving, gang!

How many times was this movie made/remade?

  • “Where did you get it from?”

“Only a politician. Don’t worry, no one will notice it’s even gone.”

  • Flangepart

“And the best thing is, an hour after you eat it, you feel so much smarter!”

    Happy B-day, Kenneth!

  • Officially, I think only once, although the same/similar story has been done a few times. (I can’t be sure if THE MONSTER AND THE GIRL was officially based on the novel or not.)

  • Luke Blanchard

If anyone doesn’t know, the movie was “Donovan’s Brain”, and based on a novel of the same name by Curt Siodmak. A two-part adaptation of the novel starring Orson Welles from the radio show “Suspense” can be found at Internet Archive, either in the collection of “Suspense” episodes, or in a collection of Welles’s “Suspense” appearances. A search for “Orson Welles on Suspense” finds the latter, and that collection also has a parody version of the story starring Welles from another show.

  • Luke Blanchard

To judge by Wikipedia’s summary of the novel the radio version changed the end, which I would not have guessed.
