Monster of the Day #571

“Get the Kleenex. A LOT.”

  • Sure miss the classic days of Toho sci fi.

  • It’s Mucus Tick!

  • BobTanaka

The Japanese version of the Incredible Hulk is much different…

  • Gamera977

Skipped this movie for years since it doesn’t have any Kaiju in it, big mistake since it’s really a great film. Sorry couldn’t think of anything funny to say.

  • fish eye no miko

    He is–LIME JELLO MAN!

  • Happily, THE H MAN is now able to be seen in a lovely widescreen transfer. Weirdly, the end card is actually in English. I remember how odd it was that the old Columbia VHS ended with a Japanese symbol for The End -something which I understand was actually on the theatrical prints that made the rounds back in ’59!

  • It’s probably time for Mister Waters here to reevaluate this baby, ’cause I remember not liking this one. Fortunately I got a copy on hand…

  • Gamera977

    Minty fresh radioactive death!!!

Ok, it’s only sorta funny but it’s the best I can come up with..

  • Ah, one of my favorite non-kaiju Toho films. I saw it as a kid and it creeped me right the heck out; for some reason for years afterwards I was convinced that when the H-man ate the lovely young girl, that I saw her emptied-out skin fall to the floor!

And the ending seems odd to me — to stop the H-man, the Tokyo authorities turn the entire harbor into an oil-soaked sea of fire? How much damage did that do?

  • The Rev.

    “All right, nostril spawn!”
    Hee. I love the Tick.

  • Flangepart

Most disgusting Tick EVER! Still funny…
The whole derilick ship thing stuck with me a long time. Well done monster-creep fest.
