Monster of the Day #569

The last victims of the German army.   (Get it?)

At last, one I know : The Frozen Dead, starring Dana Andrews.

It looks like they figured that no one would buy the “special effect” so, why try? (all together now: “they just didn’t care”).

  • Gamera977

Plus it’s the kinda ‘monster’ where it can only kill you if you walk right up to it and put your neck in exactly the right position…

  • bgbear_rogerh

hah, yes, it reminds me of the sock puppets in “Robot Holocaust”

  • Yeah, I’ve GOT to see this one one of these days! Nazi cryonic experiments, 60’s aesthetic, and I’ve always been a big Andrews fan! Somehow, though, THE FROZEN DEAD has yet to enter my scope…. I’ll see it eventually, though. This and THE CROWDED SKY have me VERY excited!

  • Ken_Begg

Y’all’s attempts to mask your patent terror with brittle bravado are frankly just sad.

  • Flangepart

If Hitler had only had the budget of this film…we’d a never heard of the little creep.

  • bgbear_rogerh

I was wondering if Dana Andrews was ever allowed to smiled in a film.

  • bgbear_rogerh

Curses, once again Ken has disarmed my snark.

  • Ken_Begg

    It’s a handy skill.

  • I think he cracks a smile early in CRACK IN THE WORLD, before his experiment goes wrong and nearly destroys the planet.

  • zombiewhacker

He didn’t smile in The Ox-Bow Incident?
    Oh… wait…

  • Ken_Begg

I think he smirks when he’s being really smug in Curse of the Demon, so that counts, I think.

  • Well, let’s face it, what Andrews did best was heavy drama. When does smile, he looks like Eddie Constantine.
