Monster of the Day #534

Now that’s genre filmmaking at its finest. (Came out two years after 2001 a Space Odyssey, by the way.)

  • Flangepart

    Ah. The somewhat invisible Yeti.

  • Ericb

It’s readily transparent that this fellow is so ashamed of his invisibility that he feels the need to compromise with the dominant invisiblephobe culture and show some of himself to the public. What sad times we live in.

  • Lots o naked Euro babe flesh in this one. Love it.

  • The Rev.

…..what the hell is this?  I simply must know, because I simply must find this.  Inviso-Sasquatch…yeah, that’s got my interest.

  • Ken_Begg

This is why I wish we could do T-Fest monthly. Even twice a year doesn’t really help.

  • Mr. Rational

If I could pay for everyone’s transportation on a monthly basis, I totally would.  As it is, I’m already getting into withdrawal.  October can’t come fast enough.

  • Ken_Begg

I just ordered one of my features today. I had two picked out, but then I realized they both had rape scenes (being made in the ’80s, it was almost inevitable). One of them I may stick with anyway, but I didn’t have it in me to show two such films.

  • Seems like I heard about a Paul Nashy movie about an invisible gorilla, or something. Is this it? If there’s a version of this in English, I simply HAVE to see it!

  • zombiewhacker

Dr. Zaius’ villainy was transparent even to the human called Taylor.

  • EGM3

    DR ORLOFF’S INVISIBLE MONSTER

  • Dr. Orloff learned to late not to buy discount invisible apes.

  • Flangepart

“Get yer paws off me, you dammed dirty transparent gorilla!”

  • Ken_Begg

I’m probably in the minority here, but I’d much rather see a remake of Planet of the Apes using cheesy ape suits like this than one using vastly better computer effects. (Not because the former would be in any way better, but rather because it would be hilarious.) Maybe someday I can use computer software to surround Heston with apes like this one.

  • Gamera977

HAH! The real reason no one can get a good photo of Sasquatch, he can turn invisible!

  • Ericb

In the meantime you can always watch Time of the Apes.

  • Hmmm. I didn’t know any of the Dr. Orloff films were shot in color! Thanks, now I know what to keep my eyes open for! (No pun intended)

  • Sandy Petersen

I like this movie quite a bit, even if it has lots of creepy sex parts. And the invisible man himself is a hoot.

  • zombiewhacker

So did we decide which movie this was?

  • Yup.  Dr. Orloff’s Invisible Monster.

  • Flangepart

The title “Dr. Orloff Transparent Johnson” was considered, but after due consideration…
