Monster of the Day #501

♫ And I need you more tonight,
And I need you more than ever….♪

  • The Rev.

I have a guess as to what this is, but since I’ve not actually seen it I’ll wait until someone can positively identify it.

  • Boogeyman. Does this mean that The Devonsville Terror is not far off? That one has the lovely Ms. Love topless.

  • Ken_Begg

I looked up stills for Devonsville Terror previously (we’re on the same wavelength), and I didn’t see anything really monster-y. Haven’t seen the film, so I’m not sure as to whether there is any such thing in the movie.

  • The Rev.

My guess was wrong if this is Boogeyman.  Ah well.

The only thing I can think of from Devonsville Terror that might be slightly monster-y would be the projection of the witch as she curses the town after they burn her.  I haven’t seen it in ages, though, so there might be something else.  (I don’t think the worms Donald Pleasance comes down with would be considered monsters, although they are pretty icky.)

  • Beckoning Chasm

So Tuesday’s was based on a Stevie Wonder song, and today’s is based on a song by KC and the Sunshine Band, this week’s theme must ergo be Disco Monsters.

  • Is the monster here a woman with a glowing eyeball? Or is that a small glowing monster in front of a woman’s face?

  • Not-So-Great Cthulhu

It’s a shard of a mirror over the woman’s eye.  It’s been over twenty years since I saw this, but I believe the baddie was somehow within a mirror that wound up broken and the woman winds up possessed near the end of the flick.  At least I think that’s about right.  Honestly, about the only two things that stick with me about this movie are this particular image and that it was better than I expected it to be.

  • Not-So-Great Cthulhu

That’s certainly more terrifying than my guess.  I assumed the theme was monsters that show up in dreams.  Disco, though…. yikes.

  • Flangepart

So…what? She wears the mirror shard like an eyepatch?
    Ooh…a pirate with a mirror/eyepatch! Cool!

  •  There is a demon seen briefly in a dream sequence.

  • Richardd

Er, it’s Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”… “Turn around, Bright Eyes…”
