Is this…the FALL of T-FEST?!

Yes. Oct 20th, specifically. Usual place, the Barking Lizards offices in Richardson, TX, near Dallas.

Witness the logo-y goodness provided by Kirk Draut. Just in case you’re one of *those* people, you can buy a shirt or mug or magnet or button bearing this visage at our ALWAYS TREMENDOUSLY BUSY Cafe Press store. (Just let me blow the dust off of it.)

By the way, the way it works is that I can only display one version of any one item at a time. In other words, if I put the T-Fest logo on the large mug, that’s all I can do at that moment. But if anyone wants a different image (including Rock Baker’s spectacular Ode to Jabootu piece), let me know and I can switch it.

UPDATE: By the way, if you Google “cafe press coupons,” you can almost always find some discounts. Right now, for instance, there are several 25% off coupons for Father’s Day, although I think those require a $50 order. But there are usually several to choose from.

Anyway, details on the show to follow, but them’s the basics. Ask for details below, or drop me a line at ken@jabootu.com. And if lodging is an issue, Sandy usually has spare room at his house, although then you run the risk of finding yourself shirtless and chained to a wall whilst being whipped by a manically laughing Sandy. Eh, it hasn’t done me any harm.

Maybe next year (employment willing).  Paleontological pendantry alert – T-Rex only had two fingers.

  • Ken_Begg

And he seldom hung out with Whoopi Goldberg, the reasons being obvious to past Fest attendees.

  • Ericb

Well Woopie Goldberg is way scarier than T-Rex so I can see why he would want to avoid her.

  • Two fingers look pretty goofy, though. I think that’s why ‘Tyrannosaurus’ has become synonymous with more or less ANY large carnosaur. Something built more like an allosaurus makes for much more dynamic movie monster. It’s all about aesthetics.

October?  Has it been that late before?

  • Ken_Begg

No, but due to various factors, neither Kirk or I (more myself, I think) could make it work earlier. I volunteered to forgo attending, but Sandy suggested holding it in the fall, and that generally worked.

The biggest problem is that Galaxy Jane might be unavailable that weekend. Fingers crossed.

  • The Rev.

Ah, that explains the late date.  It’ll be worth the wait, I’m sure.  Hell, I might have all my Fest write-ups done by then…

Crossing fingers, toes, and eyes for GJ.

After I finish typing this, naturally.

  • Ericb

I know.  I was just being snarky ;-).

  • Mr. Rational

Well, it shouldn’t be a problem.  I was just curious.

How sad I’m gonna have to wait so long for my fix, though.

  • Ken_Begg

Ah, but it’s delayed arrival will be all the sweeter!

  • GalaxyJane

Don’t cripple yourself on my account.  :-)

Unfortunately, it’s actually the weekend before mine own annual Bad Movie/Halloween/Anniversary party here in the East, so am I usually busy prepping then. That and technically I will be mobilized then and not sure if I can take any leave to get out there for more than about 36 hours. But hope springs eternal and the spousal unit and I have not yet ruled it out entirely.

Still planning on trying for B-Fest again, although if my MOB date gets pushed back any further due to lack of orders from the #$&#ing Army, that’s going to present challenges of its own.

  • Ken_Begg

Shorter Version: I hate all of you. Go suck an egg.

  • GalaxyJane

Now, now Ken, the ARMY hates all of you (and me), but they’d never tell you to go suck an *egg*.

  • Yeah it bugs me too. But on the other hand, anatomically correct T-rexes will probably never make an appearance at T-fest.
