T(ween)-Fest on April 25nd!

Our annual spring film fest will take place at Sandy Petersen’s house in Rockwall, right outside of Dallas, on Saturday April 25th, staring at about 10:00 AM. Come and visit with some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and Sandy. This year we offer love, war, geeks, ninjas, murder, cavemen, an indestructible killer and a really indescribable mess of a ‘movie.’

And save some vacation time for September, when we’ll be holding our–no! yes!–10th Anniversary T-Fest.

Lodgings at Sandy’s house are almost always available upon request. Further details can be had by writing to yours truly at ken@jabootu.com.

Cool! I’ve been wondering when TwF2K15 was coming. I hope the use of “we” means you’re making it down, Ken.

Ninjas are cool, caveman I’m a bit worried about, I’m wondering if that indestructible killer is in one of Sandy’s Hong Kong movies, and that last one makes me super-worried. The last movie I can describe that way was Daniel the Wizard and that movie was so bad it broke me of my Cilla-Calla-Curse, which I’m not sure was worth the price…

Depending on my schedule, I might come out Friday night. If I do, I may have to ask if there’s a couch I can crash on, since it’d make more sense to do so than drive home and then turn around and come back out the next morning…especially since I’ll probably already be doing that Saturday-Sunday.

I was able to get a CRAZY cheap fare, maybe my cheapest ever. So yes, I was able to swing it. I’m already saving for September, Can’t miss the 10th anniversary.

This caveman will be loved by all, the indestructible killer is Sandy’s but not from Hong Kong. Don’t worry about that, either. Although–surprise–Sandy is showing an Excruciator. I guess he’s taken over for Chris Holland. I protested as much as I could, for my sake as well as everyone else’s, but it remains. Of course, I have what many will probably consider an awful movie too. And so it goes.

I sleep in a chair, so couches are readily available.

  • The Rev.

Excellent on all fronts. Except Sandy providing something Jabootu’s high priest is already dubbing an Excruciator; especially since the last time he did that it scarred everyone for life.
I’ll take your word on the caveman thing; admittedly, I was thinking of caveman movies sans dinosaurs as my concern, since the couple of those I’ve seen were pretty bleh. I had an idea of a caveman movie that might not be, but I’m not saying what it is since it’d be a nice surprise.

Doesn’t it seem like that all caveman films are the same, dinosaur or not? Boy – girl, two tribes, one a little more advance than the other etc. etc.
heck, if they all have the same plot, give us the dinosaurs.

  • Tickets bought. And September seems like a good bet also as they have (at the moment) not scheduled us to drill that month.

  • The Rev.

    Double yay!
I hope we get everyone back for September; if nothing else, Chris H., Dr. Freex and Professor-Lawyer Chris making it back would be fantastic (I am assuming everyone else will make it since they usually do) as it’s been forever for them.

  • Ken_Begg

Actually, I pluralized everything whether it appropriate or not.

  • Ken_Begg

We’ve contacted Chris (and Chris) and Freeman, so hopefully we can pick a date that works for everyone.

  • The Rev.

    Triple yay!

  • The Rev.

So, I hear the following will be our line-up…

    Shark Attack
    Shark Attack 2
    Shark Attack 3
    Psycho Shark
    dinner (likely fish)
    Snow Shark
    Sand Sharks
    Shark Week
Shark Night (partially filmed in Texas)
On a related note, a movie called Raiders of the Lost Shark came out last year and this is the first I’m hearing about it. Can anyone explain how the hell that happened?

  • bgbear_rnh

How about Sharky’s Machine with Burt Reynolds and an Episode of CPO Sharky ;-)

  • The Rev.

It’s a shame they went this way; after last month’s MotD run of critters from At The Earth’s Core I was really hoping they’d show it, because it would be an instant crowd-pleaser.

Of course, pleasing the crowd is not usually their intention…

  • Reed

Holy cats! I haven’t checked Jabootu in a while and I checked tonight on a whim to see that Tween fest is tomorrow! I will be there but I’ll miss the first movie. If the programming committee wants to break with tradition and slot the excrutiator first that would be great. Thanks.

  • Glad we got to see you!
