Monster of the Day #480

Human Motels! Humans check in, but they don’t check out.

I know they were trying for an octopus (and failing) but if you forget that and look at it as a completely original monster it’s pretty cool.

Looks like Capt. S.P. Meek has a thing for tentacles.

  • MrTongoRad

It just looks like a deflated balloon just lying there draped over the sub. Maybe they should just pump it up and it will float away…

  • Ken_Begg

Whereupon, no doubt, it will attack Tarkan.

Actually, this beastie puts me in mind of Wells’ Martians.

  • MrTongoRad

Bwah! That Tarkan clip is pretty awesome. I definitely have to see that movie one of these days.

  • SteveMB

It could be worse — it could be a deflated balloon just lying there while Bela Lugosi does his best to look like it’s dragging him under….

  • Ericb

Or the Beast from Haunted Cave with eyes and some extra arms.

  • Beckoning Chasm

This looks like an advertisement that appears in cephalopod magazines.  “Just don’t have the energy to attack subs these days?  Try Serutan!  Serutan is natures spelled sideways.  Ask for it at your local pharmacy.  Glub.”

“dammit, forgot a can opener again”

  • sandra

Hmm, Captain Meek has a very feminine – looking crew. The wannabee octopus does look very dispirited.

  • That was my thought exactly. I didn’t know the cave-critter had aquatic ancestors.

  • The Rev.

    Yes.  Yes you do.

    Everyone does.

  • Marsden

I think the eyes remind me of Gleep and Gloop.

It’s probably a fake monster, planted by the captain to upset his companion so he can “comfort” her.
