Monster of the Day #386

“So you can stay with the vampire you’ve chosen, or go for the vampire behind veil number one…”

Well, if she’s hiding her face behind a veil she probably has even worse teeth than the redhead.

If I may be permitted to go off-topic? Saw ‘The Lemon Drop Kid’ last night on TCM for the first time and had a pleasant surprise to see the one and only TOR FRIGGIN’ JOHNSON as a street corner Santa in the Kid’s big scam! I mean what if Kimar and Kompany had kidnapped Tor Claus to take back to Mars? Can you imagine the mayhem of the big finale fight between ‘Stalin-moustace’ Voldar and the Santa of Yucca Flats?!?

  • David Fullam

Two of my favorite vampire women.

  • Sandy Petersen

the redhead can bite me anytime.

so close to awesomeness and yet so far. . .

Red has elongated lateral incisors rather than cuspids (canines), that is a new one for me.

(IIRC Nosferatu had elongated central incisors like a vampire ROUS)

  • Flangepart

    ‘Elongated Lateral Incisors’

    So, what, she’s part rabbit?
NIGHT OF THE VAMPRE LEPUS! Yeah…I’d watch that…

  • Rock Baker

I’m not sure if I’ve seen this one or not. After a while, all those vampire movies sort of run together. I know I’ve seen that redhead, but I can’t be sure if it was in this movie or not (I have the nagging feeling I should know who that is, but my mind is blank!)

  • Anonymous

She kind of looks like Lisa Kudrow, maybe it is “Buffay the Vampire Layer”

  • Anonymous

it’s just a wee bunny rabbit

  • Never fails. Everytime I’m interested in a girl, shes either a lesbian or undead.

  • Flangepart

“Never fails. Everytime I’m interested in a girl, shes either a lesbian or undead.”

    :) It’s times like this, I miss the sigs…

  • Beckoning Chasm

I was thinking the redhead was Lalla Ward (ex-Mrs. Tom Baker) and thus this was Vampire Circus.  But it’s hard to really say for sure when the face sprouts big long fangs.  I’m not thinking Vampire Circus anymore, though.

  • David Fullam

    Think Paul Naschy.

  • Rock Baker

I was thinking it might be Vampire Circus because it looks like the same girl to me too, but I can’t really recall anything like this shot happening in the movie. (Granted, I’ve seen a lot of stuff since I saw Vampire Circus.) I hope someone comes through with the title soon and clears this mystery up!

  • Not-So-Great Cthulhu

    Rock,
It’s a Paul Naschy film.  I believe it’s either “La Noche de Walpurgis” (US title: “The Werewolf vs. The Vampire Women”) or “El Retorno del Hombre-Lobo” (US Title: “Night of the Werewolf”).  Probably the former (although they’re basically the same plot).

  • Rock Baker

Thanks! I’ve heard of Werewolf vs Vampire Women, but I haven’t had a chance to see it yet. (I’m finding more and more of these films listed in catalogs as subtitled European versions instead of the dubbed US versions, so they’ve sort of slid down the priority list until I can find scope prints of the US versions.)

Seeing those oversized fangs makes me wonder if they are hollow, like snake fangs, and the vamp just siphons the blood up, like drinking through a straw.

  • Sandy Petersen

werewolf vs. vampire women is super-awesome and fulfills all the promise of the title. Check it out.

  • ProfWmDyer

    Like Bunnicula?

  • sandra

Werewolf Vs Vampire Women is available on Youtube.  I watched it last night.
