Ya know, If Kirk and Spock show up, they can just set the Phasers to focus on silicon, and problem solved.

A great beastie that freaked me out as a kid.  I haven’t seen this in  while but isn’t there a scene where one of these “jumps” out of a tree and falls on some unfortunate fellow?  I’d love to know how one of these made it’s way into a tree.

Love this movie, and yeah cool original monster. Plus my favorite actor, Peter Cushing! And radioactive cows! More movies should have radioactive cows as the solution!!!

Because they’re kind of like a slug, I suppose, would be able to slide up there.  That was how I rationalized it getting up there.

As to why it’d go up there…well, I guess that particular silicate had a flair for the dramatic.

This movie’s pretty damn great.  The monsters, for me anyway, walk that fine line between charming and goofy.

That division scene really grossed me out for some reason.  Put me right off my soup for a while.

Mysteriously, my dvd copy of this movie (not a cheap pirate either, but a version manufactured in france) is in black and white. I thought the movie was in black & white till quite recently.
