Monster of the Day #361

No, these guys are completely different from yesterday’s.

Strangely I can’t place either of them, though these photos do ring a bell. I definitely haven’t seen them in action, though.

Do they even move about? I can’t decide what would look goofier- if they don’t bend their knees when they walk, or if they do. I’m guessing that they remain stationary to maintain their aura.

  • The Rev.

I’ve never seen Warning from Space, but Lyz has a typically nifty review of it over at her site.  It sounds interesting, if rather flawed.

Oddly this one is also on my ‘250 Krappy Movies for Forty Bucks’ collection. So-so movie though the lead star alien does transform into a super cute Japanese lady to visit the Earth.

TongoRad: If I remember correctly I think they did have a stiff-legged don’t bend the knees walk. As well as bending at the waist and rotating at the hips. Yeah sorta goofy but I’ve seen worse.

Rev: Thanks, didn’t know Liz had reviewed this, I’ll have to check it out.

PS: Not to be confused with ‘Invasion of the Star Creatures’ which made ‘Plan 9’ look like high art in comparison. It ties with ‘Manos’ as pretty much the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

  • A weird movie that never seemed to know what it wanted to be.

    *Spoiler alert question*

BTW, can anyone answer this?  When they fire the missiles at the rogue planet, and it doesn’t do any good, and they despair that they’ve only got a month left, doesn’t that mean that the planet is not a month away, but is in fact at best an hour or so away?  Given how little time it took for the missiles to hit the target.

    Oh, I know this one.

My kid brother looked like a tick about to pop.

I can’t put my arms down!

Well… put your arms down when you get to school.

The KKK’s attempt to update their image with a New Age flair didn’t turn out as well as expected.

The LAST place you’ll see the Hoky-Poky.

  • Looks like a Residents video.

Cool. I don’t think it is in my Krappy Movie collection, though (and I think one’s enough for me). Maybe I’ll come across it some day. Until then I can envision the whole thing just looking at that picture.

    For “The Sleeper”, perhaps?:
    “Why?!! I said, why?!!!”

and, just for the hell of it (one of my fave lines):
“Is is a sickness, or is it just something to do?”

“And then, I got made into a comic book character. Ever hear of ‘Starro?”
