Monster of the Day #355

“Quick, Henry, the Flit!”

  • The Rev.

Oooo, this movie could fill up the rest of the week, easy.

It wasn’t well animated, but I loved this critter.  Especially the tail.  The Cthulhu-y nautilus monster was my favorite, though.

I will never forget this movie.

    Ever.

It has carved it’s name into my brain.

    Kinda itches.

And the Criterion disc for it is SPECTACULAR.

  • Cullen Waters

    Don’t think I haven’t thought about it.  A lot.

    Love Equinox!

  • Wasn’t Herb Tarlek in this film?

  • Again with the Flit!  Who would be knowing such a thing?  Why Am I posting like Zoidberg?

  • Cullen Waters

    Yep.

The great thing about these MODs is that they clue me into movies that I probably should have heard of but for whatever reason haven’t.

Equinox is certainly one of them, and- hooray!- my library system has it. So that’ one to cross off the list.

That’s the best possible reason for me to do it, too. Enjoy that Criterion disc! It’s one of the best one ever in terms of examining low-budget filmmaking.

    Hummm…retractable ‘hangin’ downs.’ Neat.

I’ll make sure to check it out- I generally enjoy those type of extras as much as the movies. I recently got The Harder They Come and that documentary about the issues Perry Henzel had both with making a movie in Jamaica and later with distributing it was really nicely done. I like it when there is a lot more meat there than a bunch of guys joking and reminiscing, which seems to be the norm.
