Monster of the Day #322

Why so serious?

  • The Rev.

Ooo, I just saw this last year. It was pretty good, although not the best of Castle’s movies. The make-up here wasn’t terribly realistic, but creepy enough to be effective. I did enjoy Castle’s poll-taking bit, though. That was great stuff.

    “Are we happy yet!?”

  • I saw this movie. I know I did. Remember the ending and everything. Dimly recall thinking it was one of the few adaptations as good as the source.

Yet I don’t remember anything like THAT PICTURE in the movie.

The gray cells, they have the little holes…

  • gave one of my snos a nightmare. He was about 11 at the time.

Not as disturbing as Michael Jackson.

“Teeth expand to fill the space allotted to them.”

OK, so maybe the 1000 foot roller-coaster drop wasn’t a good idea.

I thought for sure the one time I saw this on television, it was the ‘happy’ ending. Yet, common wisdom is that no such ending was filmed. Or was there one that occasionally got projected? Castle was enough of a showman, I wouldn’t put it past him to let people think his poll had only one outcome, only to toss in a different ending with every tenth or so showing.

I remember this show in FAMOUS MONSTERS a Loooong time ago.
How in the name of Art Fleming did this character speak, without sounding like Jack Nicholson in full sneer mode?
