Monster of the Day #285

I know some of you are disgruntled over my puns this week, but iris you wouldn’t lash out at me like that.

  • The Rev.

    Man, I love this movie.

Despite how creepy it is, I felt bad when this guy took a katana to the face.

  • Flangepart

Well, let’s pull the ‘lid’ on it, ho-kay?

  • Mr. Rational

Let’s take a vote on whether Ken’s puns should be made less abusive to his readers.

    The eyes have it!

  • Gamera

WTH!?! Looks like a AD&D beholder on acid.

And hey, the puns are better than a sharp stick in the… um… ear…

  • roger h

I always enjoy Ken’s vitreous humor.

  • GalaxyJane

I’m still waiting for the Monoids to make an appearance.

  • Mr. Rational

No, no, I love Ken’s puns. I just couldn’t resist.

  • Rock Baker

I wonder if I’ve seen this. I almost think I have, but I must have missed the title. Was this thing in Big Trouble in Little China?

  • John Campbell

Rock you punched the shark right in the eye with your guess!

Ken’s puns get on my optic nerves!

  • Reed

I recently showed this to a friend’s teenage kid for the first time. Damn, I love this movie.

I think roger h wins this round; he pun’d the megashark.

  • Gamera

Thanks John, saw it years ago and don’t remember much about it except that I liked it. Will have to add this to my DVD wish list.

  • Rock Baker

I think I was too young when I saw it last, because I didn’t understand a thing that was going on (to be fair, I came in late). I like Kurt, though, so I’ll have to see the film again when I get a chance.

  • Guy Hoyle

    Absolutely fantastic movie.

  • sandra

I described BIG TROUBLE to a friend as “an Indiana Jones movie in which Indie is a klutz who is always putting his foot in it”. Though Kurt Russell was actually imitating John Wayne in that one.

  • AS the King of Quips, I would like to recognize Ken as a very apt pupil.

  • Brad

I thought Ken’s puns were on a nice optic until he laid this one on us. He should really have his lawyer on retina, in case his puns get so painful it blinds some of us. Or am I just being myopic?

  • Marsden

I LOVE this movie. Oh, Rev already said that.

“The check is in the mail.”

Ha, this movie was so good, it had loads of action, lots of funny lines, a plot that went somewhere and it built it’s own mythology while it was doing it. Not to mention inspiried the Mortal Kombat fighting game/franchise.

  • Heli

I frequently cite this as the finest movie ever made. I stand by that.

  • BeckoningChasm

BTW, if you ever do another week of monocular menaces, there’s a nifty one in the weird homage/parody film, “Alien Trespass.” Yeah the one with Robert Patrick and the guy from Will & Grace.
