Monster of the Day #247

Gee, I just *can’t* think of a joke to go with this one.

  • The Rev.

This was the oldest episode of MST3K I’d seen until a friend of mine got ahold of a copy of a KTMA episode a few years ago. It was really weird to see a sidekick that wasn’t TV’s Frank, and to hear Servo with a different (to me, since I’d only seen episodes after the first season) voice. The episode’s a bit rough and uneven, but the scenes with the arm are a riot. My favorite is the guy screaming, “Kill…push the red button!…Kill…” to ground control. Man, did I laugh at that.

I also loved the protagonists obession with the dismembered arm. What exactly was he planning to do with it?

did i miss a RIP for William Campbell?

  • John Campbell

EwwW the first sidekick on MST3K was horrible…and Dr. Forrester was much meaner…

Also it appears the hand is giving the surfer sign to let us all know “it’s copasetic man!”

hey, Josh Weinstein/Dr.Erhard wasn’t that bad. I recently found out he was in high school when he started doing MST3K. He is pretty good in the Cinematic Titanic episodes.

  • Ericb

Yeah, he was only 17 when he did MST3K. And while I find Dr. Erhard grating he’s fine as a cooler-than-thou Servo.
