Monster of the Day #59

In the end, what’s scarier than a horny gorilla?

So how are you going to get out of this one Mister Price Line Negotator? Maybe you should have warned travelers about the civil war, meddling Klingons, and yes the rampaging Mugato.

  • BeckoningChasm

I love how everyone calls it the “Mugato,” but in the credits it’s called a “Gumato.”

Also, this thing has a terrifying scream.

  • The Rev. D.D.

“In the end, what’s scarier than a horny gorilla?”

    BOO!

  • “BOO!”

Then my job here is done!

  • TongoRad

I love how everyone calls it the “Mugato,” but in the credits it’s called a “Gumato.”

That is most definitely the fault of the ‘scpipt supervisor’.

Are you watching, Mr. Tucker? This is how you use a gorilla suit in your movie.

  • What’s scarier than a horny gorilla? A gorilla with a helmet on his head, of course.

    Everyone knows that.

Speaking of horny: Nancy Kovack as Nona.

    Va-va-va-VOOM!

I think Bill Rebane may’ve based his Bigfoot off this guy.

Wow, its been a long time since I’ve seen this episode! Pop has most of them, but he’s missing like nine episodes. This must be one of them, because I don’t remember running across it last time I borrowed his tapes.

  • Gamera

I suppose everyone already knows this but in case anyone did miss it CBS put all the original episodes on the their website where with a few commercials added you can watch them for free.

  • Hey… the whole “Mugato/Gumato” kerfuffle reminds me of Alfred Molina’s character from Raiders of the Lost Ark; Indiana Jones calls him “Sepito”, but everywhere else (including the trading cards I still have) his name was parsed “Setipo”.

  • Marsden

Here’s a silly bit of trivia: When they showed the footprints of this particular creature they pulled a scene from an episode from the previous season that depicted the footprints of a giant speaking rabbit (as in Alice in Wonderland) so this and the giant rabbit have the same footprints. Gotta love cost cutting.

It amazes me no end how some people can make such good stories with little budget while others have huge budgets and they make crap.

  • I hope you have a great day!

  • Thanks for your tips on this blog. 1 thing I would like to say is always that purchasing gadgets items over the Internet is certainly not new. In reality, in the past few years alone, the marketplace for online consumer electronics has grown significantly. Today, you will discover practically just about any electronic gizmo and devices on the Internet, from cameras as well as camcorders to computer components and video games consoles.
