In futher Justice League news…

The current issue of Entertainment Weekly has a short story inquiring as too why Aquaman gets so little respect.

Oddly, the option of “Because he sucks” isn’t advanced.

  • I must confess I like Aquaman, because I like the ocean and sea life in general. I always thought it would be cool to talk to sea creatures.

    True, I’m hopeless.

  • I’m not saying it wouldn’t be a great attribute, but…Aquaman. I mean…AQUAMAN!

  • I like Aquaman because he has a neat costume, the unusual (for a superhero) attribute of being a family man…and HE’S THE ABSOLUTE RULER OF 3/4 OF THE ENTIRE EARTH! How can you not respect that? He has super-strength and super-speed, just like Superman, and can mentally control the minds of literally millions of living beings. Read some of those incredible Bronze Age stories drawn by Nick Cardy and Jim Aparo, and I think you’ll have to admit that Aquaman can be cool if handled properly.

  • Sorry, I’ll stick with Namor if pressed, and even he doesn’t really do it for me most of the time.

  • CobraCmdr

If you catch the HBO show Entourage there is an ongoing plotline that parodies the recent trend in Comic book movies. I features the shows lead character starring in an Aquaman movie.

  • I still like Aquaman, but I’d be first out of the gate to admit as a member of any team, he’s too specialized to be of any overt use.

Oh, and I like Namor as well, but there’s an obvious less human dimension to him (not just cos of the ears and wings). He’s a guy who can go one on one with the Hulk, so water-breathing is just one of his skills. Plus he’s got those anger issues.
