…so fans of either/both ‘bubble shows’ have that going for them. Both are currently renewed for 13 episodes. ABC, meanwhile, will bring back Scrubs (I like that show, but man, maybe it’s time to let it go), the pretty funny Dilbert-esque Better Off Ted, and the disappointingly mediocre Castle. Maybe they’ll raise the bar a bit on that show as it proceeds.
Fox is also adding three new shows, including Glee (a high school comedy musical presumably meant to be Fox’s answer to, well, Disney’s High School Musical), that Family Guy spin-off starring Cleveland (yes, really) and Brothers–it’s a pun, too, because they’re brothers who are also black–with one in a wheelchair for bonus PC points. It stars former footballer Michael Strahan as the more mobile brother, but more interestingly, Carl Weathers and The Shield’s CCH Pounder as their parents.
More promisingly, hopefully, is the second TV show based on the DC comic book character The Human Target, once played by Rick Springfield. The main character takes on the identities of those whose lives are in danger.
Lie to Me and Fringe are also slated to return, as is (!!!) Til Death Do Us Part, apparently because Fox is getting it for almost nothing because the studio wants enough episodes to syndicate the show later.
