I’ve noted many times–including yesterday–that I have never derived much satisfaction from the many many Ultramans or the many many Ultraman knock-off shows. HOWEVER…I saw a long YouTube video on how the looniest Ultraman series was Ultraman Ace, which happily is all on YouTube. Seeing clips, I watched the second to last (of 52!) episode, “Life-Sucking Sound”. There’s a regular joe Japanese boy who only wants to play baseball with his chums. Sadly, his Tiger Mom mom only wants him to become a great violinist, and demands he constantly be taking classes or practicing.
So yes, “Geegon” up there is a monster violin. The episode is GREAT, and I highly recommend it. I showed it (obviously) during our last day of T-Fest week, and I think people liked it.
