Monster of the Day #3626

By now a lot of the grandkiddies were around, so we watched Goro and Goro, probably the most kid friendly episode of Ultra Q (and they’re basically all kid friendly). This is the one about the friendship between a mentally challenged guy and a giant monkey, which was created in two minutes by sewing an extremely dubious tale onto a gorilla suit. Not my favorite episode, but I love Ultra Q.

Ultra Q didn't do much for me, until the last two episodes (plane stranded in the sky, ghost train). Those two I thought were outstanding.

I liked it much more than 'Ultraman' and 'Ultra Seven'. It seemed like every plot in those was the Earth defense force getting beaten up by the monster and Ultra having to show up in the last five minutes and defeat the kaiju. So far I've enjoyed 'The Return of Ultraman' much more, they mix up the plots a lot more.

What do you think you are doing monkey, holding up the building?

I agree, as a personal preference of course. I love superheroes (well, old ones) and giant monsters, so I should like this sort of thing, but it never did that much for me. Ultra Q I pretty much adored, though.
