Another pathetic call for help…

We’re doing a subculture roundtable next month, so I thought it would be a good time to resurrect my very old but never posted Klansman review. However, finding an even watchable copy of this winner is difficult, as most of the cheapie dvds available offer one of the various highly edited versions.

However, Amazon offers a downloadable version (to Tivo) for rental that might be better than those. Is it possible for anyone to rent the film and burn me a copy? Assuming that’s possible in the first place, and not blocked from occuring. Of course, I’d be glad to pay for the rental, disc and postage, and you’ll get credit when the review goes up.

Another, back to my stomach flu or food poisoning I’ve been experiencing since last night now. I’ve really gotten to know my toilet pretty well, I must say.

We currently watch Netflix stuff through our Tivo, I have not tried Amazon, however, my wife may have. I know the Tivo can do Amazon. I’ll check out the workings when I get home.

I am not sure you can burn/transfer directly but, you can probably dub which I can do easily since my DVD-burner is already hooked up for such things.

Let me know if someone else steps up before I get back to you.

I assume this is the one with Richard Burton and Lee Marvin.

  • Ken,

I am looking at the Amazon thing but, I am also going to order the film through Netflix, this won’t cost me anything extra. I should have it in a few days.

Ah, now your Johnny Mnemonic review will finally have closure.

I can’t wait to read the review, even if it becomes one of those movies that I refuse to see myself. (Kinda like Body of Evidence but for much different reasons.)

I’m looking forward to seeing how the hell Richard Burton fits in with a movie about the KKK. Does he try to fake an American accent or is his character inexplicably British?

  • Blackadder

I doubt The Klansman is watchable in any case.

isn’t that oj’s first movie apperance? it would make for an interesting sociological study to see how many people watching the movie now would root for the kkk over him.
