    Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day!

    Not sure if it’s stupid but I watched ‘Shattered Hopes: The True Story of the Amityville Murders’ over the weekend. It’s a three part series on YouTube about the DeFeo murders that the ‘Amityville Horror’ was based around. The whole thing is about five hours in total, I’m not a big true crime junkie but it really sucked me in.

    A lot of stuff I’d not heard before including Butch DeFeo the murderer was married at the time. His ex-wife really added a new spin on things. Like Dawn DeFeo, the oldest daughter, being about as guilty as Butch but losing her life when the whole plan came down on her head.

    And then Butch’s defense attorney and the Lutz family being in cahoots about making up the whole haunted house balderdash to get Butch an insanity plead as well as make a pile of cash for themselves. I’d heard some of this but this film really filled in the details.
