So we resumed my little friend group’s Halloween Party this year. We usually show something (by my standards) old school to start, so I picked Return of the Ape Man. It’s the perfect bit of poverty row nonsense, with this one classic image of Bela in a tux walking around the *cough* city streets at night with a lit blowtorch looking for his escaped caveman. I have (of course I do) the Olive Blu Ray, and the film looked FAR better than I’d ever seen it.
Bonus John Carradine points, but the credited George Zucco literally appears in the caveman make-up in one shot (where he’s asleep), so that’s a con.
