Today’s Monster is a cheat, but in service of recommending a great, often overlooked film for your Halloween viewing. Mad Love is anchored, of course, by a typically wonderful performance by Peter Lorre. Really good stuff.

    Great movie, I’m embarrassed to say I’d never seen it till a year or two ago.

    I remember a clip of Lorre in the suit being used in TNT’s Friday night 100% WEIRD with Joe Bob Briggs. Always wondered what the clip was from at the time.

    It’s a great movie, I was just a leeeeettle bit disappointed that the above wasn’t in the movie more…especially since that image (and Peter Lorre totally bald) are what are typically used to illustrate this movie. But well worth seeing.

    I look too much like Peter Lorre in this film especially when my hair is cropped close. I recently grew a beard so it is not so close a resemblance ;-)
