[*Obviously in real life I’m about a million times heavier than Jaime. Although I rolled my eyes when my new, young doctor recently assured me she “wasn’t fat shaming” when she advised me to lose weight. Uh, you’re a doctor. Fat shame away.]

Island of Lost Souls, obviously. Great movie.

    Laughton does not seem that fat in his earlier roles.

    Judging from commercials, only women get the “body positivity” thumbs up. Fat guys are still to be laughed at.

    It is a bad sign for the bigger budget re-makes when the Eddie Romero/John Ashley “The Twilight People” is just as entertaining as the others.

    Moreau also got an incredibly grisly end in this one. I think it may have been the nastiest death the character ever got in any movie.

    Yeah, the ’70s version with Burt Lancaster was okay. The ’90s version with Marlin Brando was well… Jabootu didn’t just kiss that one, he married it and engages in domestic abuse with it every day…

    Not sure being fat shamed by a guy with enough body hair to make 4-5 large rugs is all that bad…

    And I wonder if Panther woman started the whole weird Japanese anime cat-girl thing?
