Monster of the Day #3268

So Voyage into Space is available on Blu Ray in a “special edition” that apparently doesn’t really have any extra features. It’s also way overpriced at $40.00 ($26 at Amazon). There’s also an apparently burned DVD for $11. You might be better watching the movie, scratches and all, on Prime. Also, for about the same price, you can just buy the entire series of Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot on DVD for about the same price, $27. That features only the dubbed TV version we watched as kids, though.

Nice art, though.

  • I’d advise series over compellation movie every time.

  • They really didn’t go into space in this movie though. It’s like Space Chief in ‘Invasion Of The Neptune Men’, or as Mike Nelson called him, “Barely-Off-The-Stupid-Ground Chief.”

And Count Zarth Arn’s base showed up, too!

IIRC, the anime series fro the 90s is not too bad either.

I remember that what surprised me the most about this series as a kid was that it had an actual end where (spoiler alert!) both the villain and the hero died. In American kiddie TV at the time stuff like that was rare.

It was Emperor Guillotine’s voyage into space. I do not think Earth is going to get a good Yelp review.

Space Giants is on youtube for free, Kiyan Shahab has the whole series, I watched it recently. That was one of those shows I watched when I was 6 and then couldn’t remember the name until I came across it a few years ago.
