Monster of the Day #3236

1932’s The Monster Walks is presumably a generic Old Dark House movie. If i had to guess from the still, I’d say it’s basically Cat and the Canary with maybe some Shh! the Octopus thrown in. I also have a soft spot for movies where the ‘monster’ is a guy in a gorilla suit. And, as you’d guess, the movie runs a thrifty 58 minutes. We could probably do worse for a Watch Party (albeit a short one). Speaking of, Watch Party this Friday.

I always loved that title “Shh! The Octopus.” Never seen the film, though.

    Have monkey suit, will travel.

It’s about what you’d think. Marginally funny, with mugging comic detective leads, but glorious tentacles on wires, and it only runs like an hour. The lighthouse setting is pretty nice.

I remember there being some entertaining animals, mostly a seal, as well as a really neat makeup effect. Its length was definitely a virtue because for the most part it was pretty lame or dull.
