Monster of the Day #3234

So my old friend Jeff was in town last Friday and we watched the terrific Jack Hill flick Switchblade Sisters, and then Grabbers, which is basically Ireland’s Tremors. Both are well worth a look.

Happy (?) Monday, everyone. Watch Party on Friday.

I’m always surprised that Grabbers isn’t better known. It’s a terrific movie with some great fun ideas.

I’ve been meaning to catch up with Grabbers for a while now, and never made it. I mean, monsters that kill you unless you are perpetually drunk? Bring it on! :-) This now moves even higher up the list…

  • The Rev.

I haven’t seen SS but Grabbers was pretty darn fun. It was on Netflix once upon a time; no idea if it still is.

  • Gamera977

Cool, I’ll have to check this one out!

Only Irish movie I’ve seen is ‘The Lair of the White Worm’.

BTW recently saw a video that Rob Zombie is trying to sell yet another remake of ‘The Munsters’. This makes remake three I think?

  • 🐻 bgbear_rnh

    That was Scotland wasn’t it?

  • Gamera977

    Ah, looks like you’re right.

  • Eric Hinkle

Well, at worst he’ll be better than the ‘Mockingbird Lane’ adaptation.

  • Eric Hinkle

Wait, monsters that can’t kill you if you’re drunk? Set in Ireland? I’m surprised nobody raised a fuss about it.

  • Ken_Begg

It’s painful to say, but I just don’t think people care about monster movies anymore.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Eh, some folks can have a laugh at themselves and their reputation. Others…can’t.

  • It’s on YouTube – but not for free.
