Monster of the Day #3412

Well, back to reality. And worse than that, to work. And time to play catch-up. Groan.

Nod to Chad R, who diligently recorded what we watched down in Dallas.

The folks who got there early, on Thursday, watched the 2019 Chinese epic MegaCrocodile. This was crazy in a way that I personally find a bit tiresome, but hey, it wasn’t made for me. Bad CGI, Odious Comic Relief (who tragically doesn’t get killed), HIGHLY dubious scientific facts–leeches come from the Gobi Desert! Weevils can take over a human body and made a puppet out of it!–but at least the running time was short. Not unentertaining, just not my bag. That’s OK, there were days and days of movies left to watch.

“MegaCrocodile” sounds like something from The Asylum. And if it isn’t, it will be.

Oh wow, you were already watching stuff on Thursday? No wonder I kept hearing about movies I didn’t see. I thought it seemed like too many for just a Friday night. Oh well.
I should probably watch this and see if it’s my kind of crazy. These sorts of movies tend to be.

I wonder if Godfrey Ho ever did a crossover ‘Chinese Vampire vs. Giant Crocodile’. If he didn’t he should have.

I knew you couldn’t trust weevils.

    Is that HO scale?

At first glance I thought this was an image from that Growing Pains episode where Ben made the movie about an uprising of killer alligators, using toy alligators munching on doll parts during a beach massacre!

  • Godfrey Ho did a film called “Crocodile Fury”, which is a cut n’ splice-sploitation film with scenes of Caucausians actors doing stuff inserted into a Thai crocodile movie.

It’s on YouTube, and bad practical crocodiles are a million times more entertaining than bad CGI crocodiles.

  • Gamera977

Thanks guys! Will check it out.

  • The Rev.

I think Crocodile Fury is a lot of goofy, crazy fun; hopefully you enjoy it like I did.

Looking on YouTube for this I found a neat video about Japanese troops during the Second World War retreating though a mangrove swamp from advancing British and Indian troops and having a series of very nasty encounters with salt-water crocodiles.

Now this would make an awesome movie!
