Nice. Movies always sound classier in French. To be fair, they kept all the bystanders Asian, which most of Europe’s kaiju posters did not.

  • Nope. This is the far superior Gamera v. Barugon, aka War of the Monsters. One of the best early Gamers, if not the best.

    Yeah, I kind of go back and forth on whether this or vs. Gyaos is my favorite of the Showa run. However, I seem to be in the minority in that I quite liked vs. Jiger and might put it third or fourth with vs. Guiron, which is bad and chintzy but a lot of fun. vs. Viras would probably be there based on the original stuff in it, which is quite good, but damn near half the movie is stock footage, which hurts it.

    Speaking of monsters, “Prophecy” is now on Prime. So are “Planet of the Vampires” and “Queen of Blood.”

    Persons in charge of Watch Parties might want to take note.

    Yeah this one is all new footage. Jiger was one of the first to have a pile of old recycled footage.
