Monster of the Day #3367

Following The Vampire Happening we decamped for a luxuriant breakfast at Walker Bros. Then back to the mines. Next up was Sextette. I’ll forgo making Mae West our subject today, but it was a near call. After that it was gory camp with James Cameron’s directorial debut (mostly), Pirahna II The Spawning. It’s really not that bad, if goofy at times.

Okay, I watched ‘The Vampire Happening’ but ‘Sextette’ is a bridge too far for me.

Haven’t seen ‘Piranha II’ either- I need to rectify that one day.

You got more out of it than I did. I was simply stunned that a movie about killer flying fish was completely devoid of entertainment value.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I watched Piranha II many years ago, and remember little about it except that Lance Henriksen was in it. I believe I thought it was pretty boring.

  • There’s something fishy about this image.

    Ha! I gill me.

  • I’m the odd one out again. I really like Pirhana II. The autopsy scene with the flying fish always has me on the floor.

  • Eric Hinkle

The only part I liked about it was the hot blonde and brunette in bikinis, and they get eaten by the piranha. In fact they’re pretty much all I can remember about the whole film.

Maybe it’s better with a crowd. I mean, it’s not great, but it’s as good as, oh, The Great Alligator.

  • The Rev.

I saw this again a year or so ago and I felt it was a pretty fun cheesefest, so I’m with you. And of course Henriksen is great as always.
