Monster of the Day #3363

After Samson vs the Vampire Women we watched Voyage of the Rock Aliens with Pia Zadora. It’s one of those goofy, free from everything and the kitchen sink sort of affairs, and I don’t remember anything about it. Think of a 90 minutes ’80s music video and you’re basically there. There might have been briefly seen monsters, but I couldn’t find any pics if so. Next in the Plan 9 slot was Robot Monster, though. Man, you can’t go wrong with that.

Robot Monster is definitely included in The Plan.

Is there anyone living who saw it in 3D?

Well, most flat 3-D movies still contain a trace of the effect if you watch it with 3D glasses, nothing like what would have been seen in theaters, of course, but I did get a 3D effect from the bubbles swarming out of the cave…

Bubbles would be the thing. I did get to see a road show of “It Came from Outer Space” & “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” in 3D back when I was in high school in the 20th century ;-)

A couple of times, at revival showings over the decades. I first saw it in a theater on a triple cheese bill, with Cat Women of the Moon. The other film might have been Plan 9, but man, it was a long time ago. It showed the very day after the post-Saturday Live Showing of SCTV’s Soviet satellite show, and when Ro-Man appeared trundling down a hill, someone sang out “Hey, Yorgi!” Still makes me laugh. Anyway, the 3-D is pretty fun. As people have said, the Billion Bubble machine is a highlight.
