It’s been featured here before, several times probably. Still, when I saw that Hulu was offering John Frankenheimer’s Prophecy, well, that news needs to be spread. If you don’t have Hulu, you can rent the film digitally on Amazon Prime for $4 (or watch it free if you take a free trial to either Paramount Plus or Epix–just remember to cancel the trial before the week is up). Hell, invest $20 and buy the Blu Ray so that you have a copy. As a hilariously bad monster movie it’s right up there with The Giant Claw. So if the ’70s is more your thing than the ’50s, this is a must have.

    I remember the guy who told me how he worked in a theater back when this was being shown. He hated the movie. Kids kept puking on the floor when the mutant bear showed up and he had to clean up after them.

    And when I was much younger I saw this on late night TV with my parents and for some reason it scared the daylights out of me. Now I look at it and keep thinking, ‘That’s ridiculous! How did this ever scare me?’
